Pre-Shoot Guide

To make sure your listing looks its absolute best, please have the home fully prepared before our scheduled session. Use the checklist below to ensure every space is clean, decluttered, and camera-ready.

Whole Home

  • Turn on all lights, including lamps
  • Replace any burnt-out bulbs
  • Open blinds and curtains to let in natural light
  • Turn off ceiling fans
  • Clear floors of clutter, cords, shoes, etc.
  • Hide pet bowls, beds, litter boxes, and toys
  • Remove personal items (toothbrushes, toiletries, laundry, etc.)

Kitchen

  • Clear countertops completely (no dish racks, paper towels, etc.)
  • Hide dish soap, sponges, and towels
  • Remove magnets and papers from the fridge
  • Clean all appliances and surfaces
  • Put away dishes and empty the sink

Living Room / Common Areas

  • Straighten and fluff pillows and cushions
  • Tuck away loose wires and remotes
  • Declutter bookshelves and surfaces
  • Remove extra furniture or decor for a spacious feel

Bedrooms

  • Make all beds neatly
  • Clear nightstands and dressers of personal items
  • Hide laundry baskets and clothing
  • Tidy under beds if they’re visible in photos

Bathrooms

  • Close all toilet lids
  • Remove personal items from counters and showers
  • Hang clean, matching towels (optional)
  • Remove rugs and floor mats (optional, but often looks cleaner)

Exterior

  • Move cars out of the driveway and away from the front of the house
  • Hide trash bins, hoses, and lawn tools
  • Sweep porches, steps, and walkways
  • Mow the lawn and trim bushes if needed
  • Remove seasonal decorations if out of season
